Baker rises to challenge of empty Chapel Street store

Pound bakery are expanding into a second town centre shop in Southport The pie giants are opening a store inside the former Crawshaw’s butchers on Chapel Street.

Contracted workers are refitting the store and have told passers by that they expect the new pound bakery to be open by the beginning of February.

Local shop workers are said to be delighted at the news after the popular lunchtime hotspot Crawshaws fell into administration before Christmas.
