Award winning presented award from Vice Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside
Staff at Claire House Children’s Hospice charity shop in Southport enjoyed a day out to Leasowe Castle on the Wirral to help pick up a glittering award.
Volunteers at Claire House won the 2018 Queen’s Award for Volunteering in the North West and were presented with the accolade by the Vice Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside.
Current and former volunteers met at the Lord Street shop to travel together to the event, which included afternoon tea, music and a word of thanks from the charity’s chief executive, David Pastor.
Amy Brown, volunteer develop- ment manager at the Southport shop said: “We are the 2018 winners of the Queens Award for Volunteering in the North West. This award is the highest accolade you can win – it’s the equivalent of an MBE for volunteer groups.
“We are extremely proud of our volunteers, past and present and this award is testament to the hard work and dedication they have given to the charity – it’s a once in a life time achievement for Claire House.”
