I would like to take this opportunity to round off Art For Macmillan’s creative activities in Cambridge Walks and around Southport in 2015 by giving a huge thanks to our exhibitors and demonstrators who made our events so interesting and entertaining for customers and passers by, whether locals or visitors to the town. Of particular merit are Walter Fairclough whose exciting abstract style of painting never fails to hearten public interest; Daniel Adler’s surreally symmetrical visions which evoke amazement and challenge perception; Sylvia Alexander’s brusho crystal paintings which spark pleasure as they spread and develop and John West whose masterful application of the water colour medium has a mesmerizing effect.
I would also like to accredit our fundraising success to ceramic painter Nancy Marriner who’s hand painted vases, plates and cups are a delight to behold; photographer Gary Gray for his expertise in digital image manipulation and Teresa Bullen’s skill and genius in combining mixed media constituents into compositions which portray interaction between people and nature.
Take a look at Teresa’s 2016 calendars which contain images of Formby and the surrounding coastal area. Art For Macmillan Cancer Support prides itself on the variety of talent presented in it’s exhibitions and demonstrations.
We will continue to provide such informative and entertaining displays of creative talent in the forthcoming year and beyond. The amount raised for the provision of care and counselling for cancer patients currently stands at £8,742.
