Arriva bus drivers are to stage a further 24 hour strike on Monday, October 30 in the dispute over pay.
It follows the two one-day strikes on Thursday, October 19 and Monday, October 23 over demands by unions for a fair and reasonable pay award.
The strike will affect all Arriva services in Merseyside and Lancashire.
Arriva bosses said they had tabled a “fair pay deal” to drivers and urged the union to hold further negotiations and call off the strike.
Arriva North West managing director Phil Stone said: “We have had further talks with the union with an improved offer being made in the hope of preventing further disruptive strike action.
“Despite this improved offer Unite and GMB remain intent on proceeding with the planned action.
“We have tabled a fair pay deal for our drivers in the region and so continue to urge our trade union colleagues to reconsider their position and get back round the negotiating table and call off the strike action.
