Arrests made in Southport after Thefts, RTC, Arson and Burglary

A 65 year old man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving yesterday (Monday 30th March), after a patrol on duty in Southport attended Irvin Avenue, where a car had collided with a lamp post.

A 36 year old woman was arrested on suspicion of shop theft in Southport town centre, after one of our town centre PCSO’s was alerted to the theft via the Town Link radio system.

A 46 year old man was arrested last night, on suspicion of arson, after an incident of a vehicle fire in Formby.

Two men aged 18 and 21 were arrested on suspicion of burglary in the early hours of today, Tuesday 31st March, after a patrol on duty in Southport attended a 999 call to an address in the town centre. Both were still in custody at the time of writing.

We will continue to be out on patrol across the neighbourhood, throughout the Covid-19 situation, being visible and responding to crime as required.
