Detectives working on Operation Castle, the force’s ongoing response to burglary, have arrested two men in connection with burglary offences in Formby.
At around 7pm last night (Thursday 28 February), officers on patrol in Victoria Road, Ince Blundell, stop-checked a car and found suspected stolen items, including jewellery. Two men were detained.
A 29-year-old man from Kirkby was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a burglary with intent to steal.
A 28-year-old man of no fixed abode was arrested suspicion of conspiracy to commit a burglary with intent to steal.
The arrests refer to a series of burglary offences under investigation in the Formby area, and forensic enquiries are ongoing in relation to items seized. Both men have been taken to police stations for questioning.
