Appeal for information after assault in Southport town centre
Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an assault on Waverley Street, Southport.
The incident is reported to have happened just before 6.30am on Sunday morning (22nd April) when a man, in his 50s, was involved in an altercation with another man.
The victim, who was punched causing him to fall and hit his head, was taken to hospital by the North West Ambulance Service after the assault. He remained there overnight for observations.
The man is reported to have swelling to his face and a small bleed on the brain but is believed to be in a stable condition.
