Two vans containing expensive tools and equipment have been broken into using the latest thievery technique.
Two white vans near to Crowland Street Industrial Estate had their front grills surgically removed allowing thieves to then bypass the alarm system and break into the vehicles undetected.
Police are advising all van owners in Southport to ensure their vehicles are kept in a secure place and where possible away from main roads and to ensure there are no tools or expensive equipment left in them overnight.
Officers are investigating the thefts and are asking anyone with information to call 101 immediately.
