Appeal for information after serious assault in Southport

Merseyside Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault in Southport in the early hours of yesterday (Sunday, 30 July 2017).

A report was received at about 1.15am on Sunday (30 July 2017) that a group of males had struck a man with a bottle in Bar 88, Lord Street.

The injured man has not been identified.

Man in a critical condition following a brawl in Southport town centre

Detective Sergeant Gary Stratton said: “We are keen for anyone with information on this incident to come forward and speak to police, or Crimestoppers.

“We are particularly keen to hear from a man who is believed to have filmed part of the incident on a camera phone who made himself known to door staff, and anyone else who may have filmed the incident.”
