Appeal for info after £20,000 of damage caused to rail line

Officers are appealing for witnesses after an incident of endangering the railway near Preston earlier this month.

Overnight on Saturday 5 June a paving stone was thrown from a rail over road bridge near Lostock Hall railway station just outside Preston.

The stone caused damage to nine passing trains, electrical cables and led to just shy of £20,000 in disruption costs.
