Appeal for dash-cam footage following attempted murder of man in Waterloo

Detectives investigating the attempted murder of a man in Waterloo on Friday 9th November are appealing for anyone with dash-cam footage to come forward.

We are looking for motorists who were driving along the southbound carriageway of the A565, heading towards Liverpool city centre, and in particular anyone who took the Crosby Road South sliproad towards Lathom Avenue/Princess Way, between 10pm and 11pm on 9th November.

Officers were called to reports of a disturbance at a first floor flat on Willoughby Road. On arrival they found a 25-year-old man, who had suffered extensive burns and stab wounds to his head and body.  The man remains in hospital where he continues to be treated for his injuries.

Detective Inspector Gary Stratton said: “The investigation into this incident remains ongoing and we are continuing to follow a number of lines of enquiry.

“I would particularly like to speak to anyone who was driving along the A565 or used the Crosby Road South sliproad between 10pm and 11pm that night and may have dash-cam footage.”
