Anti Muslim graffiti appears in Blowick

1st October 2020

Offensive graffiti designed to encourage hate towards Islam has been daubed on electricity junction boxes in the Blowick area of Southport.

The graffiti which claims the Quran calls for violence against non-believers has been scrawled onto a junction box on Wennington Road in the Blowick area.

Residents surrounding the road have written to OTS News to say they are sick of graffiti and vandalism near their homes, blaming the out of use Kew park-and-ride as an unwanted attraction for criminals.

One resident who did not want to be identified said “I walk my dog around these roads and it’s appalling to see the amount of vitriol and angry hate speech that people plaster over the area.

“This is our home. This is where we live and we don’t want it. We have lots of youths coming to drink and take drugs out of the way of the police as they hide around the Kew park and ride.”
