Result: Southport 0 Bolton Wanderers 3
Bolton took the lead four minutes after half-time, Kaiyne Woolery prodding the ball home at the far post after a run into the box and pass from Medo Kamara.
Within five minutes the visitors were two goals in front, a slick move through midfield resulting in Callum Spooner’s pass to Jamie Thomas, who scored with a neat first-time finish.
Bolton were increasingly comfortable and Thomas saw a low shot come back off the face of a post. Southport ended the match with ten men after Louis Almond was sent off for dissent before Bolton added a late third through Joe Ceberio.
