Father Christmas, Reindeer, face painting, the elf trail and performances from the local schools are just a few of the things on offer at the fair this year.
The annual Churchtown Christmas fair will be bringing fun and festivities to the town on Friday the 1st of December. Many the town’s businesses will be getting involved to put on the family orientated community event.
Debra Lawson, the owner of Churchtown Deli on Botanic Road said: “Our mulled wine went down well last year, and we sold out early. We will have extra wine on offer this year along with some homemade mince pies. Remedy will be serving Hot gin, whisky and rum with cake and there will be a range of other festive food offerings from the catering stalls attending the fair. Of course, Graham Eyes will be attending with his lovely hog roast.”
We’ll all be open until late, to engage with the fair and the community and hopefully people will find some lovely present ideas at the stalls and in the shops.
“Fingers crossed the weather will be nice for us!”
The Churchtown fair will take place from 4pm until about 8.30pm on Botanic Road.
There will be a Brass Band playing carols throughout the afternoon and the local schools will be performing. Father Christmas and his Reindeer will be attending the fair, there will be face painting for children, fairground rides and the prize for the annual elf trail will be drawn during the afternoon. Children can take part in the elf trail from the week before and entry forms will be available from Churchtown Deli from 24th of November.
The road and the zebra crossing to the Hesketh Arms will be closed on the day from 11pm to 9pm.
