Angry resident hits bump in the road with campaign for restrictions
A Southport woman says she wants Traffic calming speed bumps on Emmanuel Road. She has written to MP Damien Moore who sent a letter of support to the council but she has since been turned down on the grounds there have been no accidents there in three years.
Denise Ginty said she is furious that nothing is being done about it. However the council have said in response to The MP “The Council will continue to review the accident and speeding situation through future annual Local Safety Reviews.
In the meantime, I will pass on the concerns of the resident regarding speeding to the police, or she could contact them herself on the non-emergency telephone number 101.“
