Worried twitchers say housing developments in Formby are killing off the local birdlife such as pheasants.
One resident said “The Andrews Close/Barton Heys Road, Formby housing development has obviously pushed the local wildlife out of this area and the creatures and birds that have been dislodged are having to find other ways of feeding themselves.
We used to walk along the footpath adjacent to this development site field and see the pheasants and other wildlife happily feeding but we will no more.
The fields and the open spaces are the lungs of Formby and without them we are all the poorer and we are depriving our children of ever seeing the natural beauty of the area which we were fortunate enough to experience when we first moved to the area in 1971.”
