A huge tree branch has snapped and landed on a unsuspecting park user in Southport.
Paramedics were called to St George’s Place just after 9am today after a substantial tree branch collapsed onto the pedestrian area of the gardens.
It’s understood an individual was either sitting on a bench or walking past when they were struck by part of the falling tree.
An ambulance crew was called and paramedics carried out first aid to the victim but it’s thought there were no serious injuries suffered.
It happened near to the mermaid fountain in St George’s Place gardens.
Staff from nearby Sainsbury’s were alerted to the incident for first aid support before the ambulance arrived.
