Alleged drunk driver smashes into traffic light

Traffic was brought to a standstill around Duke Street after a taxi lost control of his car and collided into a garden traffic light.

Witnesses described the moment a male lost control of his car and collided near to the junction with Cemetery road.

The driver then stumbled injured into the nearby George Pub for medical attention.

Police and fire services remained on scene for one hour.
