Air Ambulance stuns early morning shoppers after landing in car park

Early morning shoppers parking up at London Street car park were in for a shock this morning after an air ambulance landed among their vehicles.

The emergency response chopper was called around 9am following a serious incident near to Asda Supermarket.

NWAS officials say they were given clearance to land at the car park which was the closest and most spacious site for them to access the incident safely.

Two paramedics on board disembarked the chopper and were then driven to the scene of the as yet undisclosed incident near to Central 12

The air ambulance departed the scene around 10:30am

An update from NWAS is expected shortly
