Air ambulance joins major emergency response in town centre

The air ambulance has landed in Southport station car park as part of a huge emergency response to an incident in the town centre.

Police, paramedics and at least two fire appliances have been called to a house on the junction of London Street and Derby Road.

The exact nature of the incident is not yet known but eye witnesses believe there to have been a fire at a property.

Paramedics have drafted in air support from the North West Air Ambulance.

Teams had to clear the car park near to Asda supermarket ahead of the helicopter landing.
