Air ambulance called to incident near to Splash World, Southport.

An air ambulance landed in Southport this afternoon after a man was taken ill, Monday 5 June 2017.

The helicopter landed in the overflow car park at the rear of Splashworld after the ambulance service was alerted to the incident.

Medical staff were earlier seen giving treatment to a man near the bus stop outside Pleasureland, on Esplanade.

A North West Ambulance spokesperson said: “We was called to an incident involving a patient suffering an illness, but that no injuries had occurred.”

“The patient was taken for treatment at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.”
