The RBS in Ainsdale village has sent out letters to local residents warning them that the bank is set to close this summer.
The RBS is the last bank in the village and will finally close its doors on 24th august 2015. The bank is saying the closure is due to the lack of customers coming into stores due to the increase of people using online banking.
The bank mailed out letters to people who use the bank which stated, “We’ve taken the difficult decision to close RBS Southport Ainsdale. The number of people using our branches has dropped significantly over the last few years, as many customers are choosing to use other ways of banking with us, such as online, our mobile app, by telephone and in the Post Office.”
With the bank closing this August the company is urging people to set up some sort of online banking if they don’t want to travel to closest branch which is on Lord Street in Southport.
