Ainsdale and Formby railway stations are among 170 nationwide to be given safety accreditation status.
Over a quarter of all Britain’s stations have now been accredited by the British Transport Police to the Secure Stations Scheme since its major refresh, helping tackle crime and ensure safer journeys.
The scheme assesses approaches taken to safe-guarding and suicide prevention, with accredited stations representing the standard for reducing crime, safeguarding vulnerable people and ensuring safer journeys for passengers.
