Ainsdale Gold Winners

4th November 2018

Ainsdale is up there with the winners, as ‘Ainsdale in Bloom’ was awarded GOLD at the Royal Horticultural Societies Northwest in Bloom Awards ceremony this last week.

Judged in the Town category because of population numbers and against stiff opposition they came out with flying colours and after receiving Silver Gilt for the last 2 years, which although second to highest, being awarded GOLD in 2018 by the RHS Judges has delighted everyone.

Supporting this result Ainsdale Village Church Community Garden and Edda both received OUTSTANDING in their Neighbourhood category.

Ainsdale in Bloom Chairman Brenda Porter advised as with all successes many people to thank, not least the support of the local community including local retailers and businesses.

Also recognising the support and skills of Natural Alternatives, who under the guidance of Ian McAleavy and Chris Tynan from Green Sefton, built the Village planters. The skills of these young people together with the contribution from pupils at Merefield Special School, who crafted handmade butterflies for some of the new planters, is very much appreciated in Ainsdale.

Brenda Porter stated: “It was a good day for all of us as a team and we are grateful that the RHS Judges thought we were deserving of GOLD.”

Ainsdale in Bloom is now planning for Spring/Summer 2019 for their local community.
