The emergency services were called to the Coastal (Ainsdale) following a collision at around 2.30pm this afternoon.
A Fiat Punto collided with a Vauxhall Corsa at the pine woods turn off.
Occupants of both cars were able to free themselves and wait for paramedics to turn up.
FMC vehicle recovery team turned up and diverted traffic around the scene.
