Sunday was the hottest day of the year and hundreds of people turned up to Ainsdale beach only to find that it was closed.
OTSNews.co.uk reader, Joan said: “It’s a beautiful day and if you go down to Ainsdale beach you will find hundreds of cars full of people trying to get on the beach – but they can’t – why? because the gates are closed because of ‘High Tides’. Strange how the ice cream concessionaire has no problem being on the beach”.
“The cars? Well they are parked on the pavements and down the road to the discovery centre. Guess who else is there – the traffic wardens having a wonderful time booking them all”.
“What happened to the promise that said they would be allowed to park there when the beach is closed. Might as well just put up a sign saying “Ainsdale is closed”
“Something needs to be done before the next high tides and a hot day as people will soon go elsewhere rather than come to Southport which is slowly being killed by Sefton Council”.
