Southport DJ and cancer survivor Adele Roberts has fulfilled a dream of breaking a world record.
The Radio One DJ became the fastest woman to ever run a marathon with a stoma.
She crossed the finish line at the London Marathon earlier in a blistering turn of pace.
Southport born Adele became the fastest woman ever to run a marathon with an ileostomy – a type of stoma bag – when she completed the race in 3 hours, 30 minutes and 22 seconds.
She squealed with joy as she was told the news of her marathon time live on BBC by presenter Gabby Logan.
“I can retire now, that’s it, I’m done!” she joked as she found out she had broken the Guinness World Record, which she had been aiming for.
“In training, I only went 21 miles so I didn’t know if I could finish it with the stoma. I’m over the moon,” she said.
