A young Southport mum is encouraging others to get into education after graduating university with a top degree.

Amy Magill fell pregnant at the age of sixteen but now, eight years later she is finally getting her First Class degree from Edge Hill University.

She was encouraged to do it by her now seven year old son.

Her determination has paid off after Amy graduated with a First Class degree in Child Health and Wellbeing at Edge Hill University.

She said: “My family support worker, Nicky Tins- ley, encouraged me to return to college to build my confidence up. I took her advice and achieved a triple distinction star. This inspired me to continue my studies to university level.
