A not so traumatic Marine Lake rescue – just for fun!
Its not often the staff from the Marine Lake boating house get to practice their life saving skills…until Sunday 28 August.
A mum and daughter who were taking full advantage of the sunny bank holiday weather were on a rowing boat in the Marine Lake when they found themselves adrift and in significant difficulty near to the Victorian footbridge.
The duo, named as local girls Lisa and Jade Pilkington had to be towed to shore by a clearly amused staff member while their family watched and filmed joyously from the bridge, clearly seeing the funny side of their aquatic predicament.
The pair managed to see the funny side of things and a video of their less than traumatic experience has been shared numerous times on facebook, much to the delight of the thousands of people who take to the Marine Lake with no difficulty during the rest of the summer season.
