Transparent Church gambit to evangelise paying cinema goers fails.
The Church of England (CofE) has announced today that the country’s three largest cinema chains Odeon, Cineworld and Vue – who control 80% of cinema screens around the country – have refused to show the advert because they believe it… “carries the risk of upsetting, or offending, audiences”.

OK – firstly this type of Christian fundamentalist propaganda should be kept out of the cinema. We visit such places for entertainment, not to receive religious indoctrination.
Not surprisingly the Church is very upset because their depressing little fundamentalist movie, which clearly attempts to inflict ‘more’ propaganda on the public, has been turned down. If persons wish to be brain-washed into following any bogus religious faith system then they are cordially invited to attend the correct places for doing so, such as a mosque, church or synagogue etc.
‘Freedom of speech’ has been mentioned by the Church as an objection to the movie ban. What total codswallop!
For centuries the self-righteous Church has held sway over the mass public mindset (of many cultures), with a grip of iron. Many who failed to agree with its Christian fundamentalist remit soon found themselves labelled ‘heretics’ and ended up on the burning stake or gallows.
How many lives did this LOVING faith machine take over previous centuries in its holocaust(s) against ‘unbelievers’?

Fundamentalism comes at us in many forms and some are not always immediately apparent.

Commenting on the cinema ban, the Church of England has said it is “disappointed and bewildered”. It called the decision, “plain silly” and warned it could have a “chilling” effect on free speech.
Right then – in that case the Church cannot have it both ways and would have to fully agree to allowing all other faiths and philosophies air space at well. So, would the CofE be happy for say Muslims, Atheists, Pagans, Buddhists or Satanists etc to present a self-promotional advert in cinemas to also bolster their ranks? So which is it to be?
Going on previous experiences of wholesale Church censorship regarding freedom of belief and opinion the Church (ever desperate to keep the spiritual monopoly on the trusting masses) soon gets rather shirty when others try and claim their spiritual birthright.
Give these intolerant missionaries just one minute of air time and before we know it they will be making us all sit through an hour or more of ‘Songs of Praise’, before we even get to see a movie that we paid to watch.
Hello – can anyone out there smell the fundamentalist coffee? This is exactly how such evangelical ploys work and YOU are their target!
They have this time thankfully failed
